The 2020 Leading Excellence Maryborough cohort have now completed the 2020 workshop series.

This cohort have overcome great challenges to continue their leadership journey through an unprecedented time. We commend them for their commitment, enthusiasm, and engagement, it has developed them into highly valuable and inspiring leaders for the Central Goldfields Community.

LEAD Loddon Murray invited Garry Higgins OAM to make a presentation about Transformational Communities.

This video was included in the Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program 2020 (LMCLP) and Leading Excellence Maryborough 2020 program days.

Garry also attended a Q & A forum with the program participants along with Jess Kelly who is a graduate of Leading Excellence Maryborough 2018 and LMCLP 2019.

Transformational Communities > Leading for a socially just community

The learning outcomes for the topic:

  • Strengthen understanding of social justice in communities
  • Gain greater insight into the history that led to Maryborough’s disadvantage
  • Build knowledge around agencies available to help, what are they doing to help and their success.
  • Develop your own core values
  • Develop ideas about, as an emerging leader, what capability you need to lead for social justice.)

“There’s 2 kinds of people in the world. The one’s who get stuff done and the one’s who criticise the one’s getting stuff done”
