The Goldfields Community Festival, which took place on 27th April at Phillips Gardens, was a massive success, with an estimated 1,500 people from the community attending the event. The festival was free, making it accessible to everyone in the area. The festival had something for everyone, including live music, roving acrobats, circus workshops, face painting, an electronic gaming room, a climbing wall, kid’s activities, and plenty of delicious food. The botanical gardens were filled with marquees showcasing local community groups and services.
The festival’s success was made possible by the generous contributions of several major sponsors, including the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud, Central Goldfields Shire Council, and FRRR, along with several local businesses. The organisers would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of them.
The festival was organised by a team of dedicated volunteers from partnered organisations, including Go Goldfields, Committee for Maryborough, Maryborough District Health Services, and Central Goldfields Shire Council, who worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
The festival has received widespread praise from members of the community, who have expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the organizers’ hard work and dedication. Many are already looking forward to next year’s festival, which promises to be even bigger and better.
