The Careers Expo held at Maryborough Railway Station was a great success that saw the participation of 300 schoolchildren and 20 local businesses. The event was an excellent opportunity for students to explore various career paths and learn about the skills and qualifications required to succeed in different fields. The participating businesses set up stalls to showcase their products and services to the students and provided information about the career opportunities available within their organisations and industries. The students were enthusiastic and curious, asking many questions and showing a keen interest in the different career options. It was a great initiative that helped students get a glimpse of the diverse range of career paths available.
The event was then open to the public and proved valuable for those who attended. It allowed job seekers to connect with potential employers, explore different career paths, and gain insights into the current job market.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of several local organisations, Central Goldfields Shire Council, Committee for Maryborough, Goldfields LLEN, and the Station Cafe, the event was possible. A special thanks to Gemma Simpson from the council, who was crucial in coordinating the event and ensuring that everything ran smoothly on the day. Overall, it was a fantastic event that left a positive impact on the attendees.
